What kind of actions can be done to provoke meetings in a community garden?
Investigaciones comunes y silvestres is the artistic host group of Garden State at Buenos Aires. Garden State is a MAMAZA project (Swiss / Greece / Israel / Germany). It consists of a large collection of private plants collected door to door from Buenos Aires’s inhabitants and re-composed as a mobile island on an abandoned building of La Boca neighborhood. A meeting point between plants and people. Garden State is a landscape / time-scape where the people is invited to have all kinds of interactions and activities: concerts, naps, lectures, sun salutations, full moon bathing, open mic performances and a nighty-night calming down lullaby to end the day. Garden State brings together the natural and the artificial, the outside and the inside, and puts the experience of the visitor in the center of attention.
The artistic host group and MAMAZA visited and invite Choreographic Composition chairs, social organizations of La Boca neighborhood and Danza en Acción Forum to be part of the project proposing actions based on this community – garden – choreography.
Garden State was part of Espacios Revelados sponsored by Siemens Stiftung and took place thru March 27th to 6th April 2014 at Casa del Sur, La Boca, ciudad de Buenos Aires.
Investigaciones Comunes y Silvestres is an area of the Research Institute of the Movement Art Department, National Art University coordinated by CENTRO RURAL DE ARTE.
